On July 30, Group Chairman Frank Ning met with Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Harold McGraw III and his delegation at COFCO Fortune Plaza. The two sides reached consensus on issues such as reinforcing dialog between business circles and governments, giving greater play to the role of International Chamber of Commerce, and promoting continuous growth and improvement of global economic governance system.
Frank Ning introduced basic status of COFCO Group’s international cooperation. McGraw III briefed about the strategy of International Chamber of Commerce’s future development and congratulated Frank Ning on becoming a member of ICC Executive Board.
Established in 1919 and headquartered in Paris, International Chamber of Commerce was formally granted general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. International Chamber of Commerce participates in related UN affairs in the capacity of non-intergovernmental international organization with a world network of national committees in over 90 countries and over 6.5 million members. ICC has three main activities: rule setting, dispute resolution, and policy advocacy. On July 1, 2015, Frank Ning was elected executive director of International Chamber of Commerce.
ICC executive director and Chairman of GITI Group Cherie Nursalim, Secretary-General of China Chamber of International Commerce Yu Jianlong, COFCO Group’s vice president Chi Jingtao and head of Group General Office Yin Jianhao also attended the meeting.
