With support of governments, COFCO, Mengniu Dairy, AsureQuality and PwC signed the cooperation framework agreement to seek jointly to establish the third-party certification body for food safety on April 10, 2013.
According to the agreement, the body would be devoted to food quality and safety and pasture support relevant to the dairy industry in the first place. Its first project would be aimed to pasture, which also drew the spotlight in the industry, to improve the food quality and safety system.
AsureQuality is owned wholly by New Zealand government. It is the largest certification company for food quality and safety in the Southern Hemisphere and also one of the most highly recognized of its kind of the world.
