On June 6, 2012, the ceremony was held for laying foundations for COFCO’s Chengdu Joy City. This is COFCO’s seventh Joy City project and the 1st of its kind in Southwest China. It is an important move for COFCO’s fully integrated business strategy. And it is also expected to make contribution to local economy.
The Joy City is located in Wuhou District, one of the core CBD’s of Chengdu City. The floor space totals 360,000 m2, including 160,000m2 of business area. It integrates business, entertainment, brand, etc. Underground is there a super parking lot, offering almost 3000 stalls. The urban complex plans to serve customers in October 2014.
This project completes the final step of the market penetration strategy for COFCO’s Joy City. So far, the Joy City has penetrated into Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Tianjin, Yantai and Chengdu, which are all metropolises, radiating Yantze River Delta Economic Zone, Pearl River Delta Economic Zone, Bohai Sea Economic Zone and Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.
