The 2004 “List of Most Competitive Chinese Brands” was unveiled January 6 in Beijing. Two COFCO brands, “Great Wall” and “Fortune,” made the list because of their strong consumer appeal and were selected as most competitive Chinese brands in the food and beverage industry.
Professional judges gave “Great Wall” a consumer appeal rating of 41.72, highest among Chinese brands of wine. The “Fortune” brand received a rating of 33.31, second highest among Chinese brands of vegetable oil.
The survey results and list of brands were jointly announced by Successful Marketing magazine and Sinomonitor International and covered 90,000 samples in 36 cities across the country.
“Luhua,” which is partially controlled by COFCO, also made the list of most competitive brands in the Chinese food and beverage industry. The brand received a consumer appeal rating of 27.19, making it number three among brands of vegetable oil.
