The opening ceremony of COFCO Grains & Oils Industries (Jiujiang) Co., Ltd. was held in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province on October 16. It has the daily capacity of processing 1,000 tons of rapeseeds which is the largest of its kind in the region and the expected annual revenue of RMB 2.7 billion.
State and local government officials and top management of COFCO attended the ceremony.
As Mr. Chen Hengda, Depupty Provincial Governor, said, COFCO Grains & Oils Industries (Jiujiang) Co., Ltd. would play a driving role in promoting modernization of agriculture, increase in farmers’ income, employement and economic development. Jiangxi Province welcomed COFCO to increase its investment and expand cooperation.
Mr. Frank Ning, Chairman of COFCO, expressed his gratitude to the provincial government and said, Jiujiang had advantages in location, transportation and market radiation. It was also one of China’s largest rice market. COFCO saw the city as a stratigic point in its along-Yantze-River expansion. The facility would integrate processing and logistics.
COFCO Grains & Oils Industries (Jiujiang) Co., Ltd. engages in further processing of rapeseeds, soybeans and feed protein. It is one of the designated producer of Fortune cooking oil.
