COFCO was awarded for being with the best sense of social responsibility on the international forum on social responsibility of corporate citizens held in Beijing’s Grand Hall of the People on January 22.
Mr. Dong Zhongxin, COFCO Vice President, attended the forum and delivered a speech. As a state owned company, COFCO plays its role by taking on due social responsibility to strike a balance between the economic performance it can achieve and social benefits it can create. COFCO makes contribution in various fields like national economic development, food safety, poverty relief, low carbon economy exploration, employee interest protection, etc.

COFCO was awarded for its development strategy, i.e., building the whole value chain control model to guarantee food safety.
The forum was jointly organized by China News Service, China News Weekly and Chinese Red Cross Foundation. Its mission is exploring a proper way from the corporate social responsibility side for China’s economic development.
The forum also attracted a number of government officials. Mr.Hua Jianmin, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Mr. Li Jinhua, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and government officials from the State Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Ministry of Commerce and other government departments attended the forum.
